Established 1982

MTS Transportation, Inc, was established in 1982 by Tim and Vickie Merrill. Our services began with a single tractor/refrigerated trailer. We chose Amarillo deliberately, seeing the need for a qualified third party logistics 3PL company in the Texas Panhandle. Today MTS Transportation provides 3PL services throughout the entire United States.

MTS is a full service based 3PL company, which offers “Power Only” transportation nationwide specializing in Bulk Milk Transportation and Bulk Carbon Black Transportation. We also offer full truckload transportation of refrigerated products such as fresh or frozen boxed meat, poultry and pork products throughout the USA. We also offer full truckload transportation of dry freight for your dry products of nonperishable foods, carbon black, animal feed supplements, auto parts and whey powder and dry powdered milk. We can also provide expedited freight services and air freight services in those immediate situations.

Document Imaging

MTS started offering “document imaging” for our customers in November 2005, to expedite their proof of delivery and bill of lading. This service allows our customers a more timely flow of their paperwork for faster invoicing to their customers. This is a service given to our customers at no charge to better serve them. Our billing department collects all paperwork from our carriers, quickly audits the paperwork for discrepancies, then scans it into our computer system. On the same day our customer will receive an invoice from MTS by email or fax. With our document imaging system, we are creating a faster cash flow for our customers by providing a document image of the original bol and pod, doing away with snail mail and again being a leader in the 3PL industry by increasing our customers ability to invoice by four to five days.

Traffic Management

MTS will audit your current transportation needs and offer a solution to your transportation concerns. We will provide available equipment during “high capacity” trends in the industry, such as produce times throughout the country. We will in essence become your transportation department. By using a 3PL company you have all the advantage of our carriers in our network. We can also provide drop trailers that are needed for “just in time” delivery of certain products. We can manage small to larger firms that ship refrigerated, dry van, flatbed or bulk trailers throughout the country. This service is normally provided on a contractual basis, with no less than a three year contract. With this service we will also provide, on time delivery reports, auditing on all freight bills and discrepancies on all pods and bols. We will file all claims, detentions, additional charges, provide a quarterly report on all actions taken and prepare all transportation invoices to be paid. If needed, we will put qualified personnel on site to better service your transportation request and needs. With this service you will write one check weekly for all of your transportation needs and the communication line will be minimized. The greatest advantage of this service is that it allows for controlled cost of transportation and it allows the customer to do what they do best; to concentrate all of their resources on their customers to improve their bottom line.
